About Natural Awakenings Boulder

Natural Awakenings Boulder is a locally owned publication committed to providing timely articles exploring natural methods of health, healing, inner growth and earth friendly living.

Along with our sister magazines in over 50 communities (and growing!!), we create synergy and value by offering cutting-edge information that provides a roadmap to a healthier, more authentic life for more than 2 million readers. Articles have featured national leaders in healthy living such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Rodney Yee, Dr.Christiane Northrup, Dr. Wayne Dyer and more.

Locally we are not only a source for the latest thoughts on natural living, but also a resource for current events, local happenings and the products and services that support your healthy lifestyle.

Natural Awakenings Boulder is a principle centered business committed to social responsibility and sustainability. We are committed to printing on recycled paper, using 100% recycled business cards, as well as recycled folders, binders, rate sheets and other necessary marketing materials. We make do with less paper whenever possible preferring electronic communication to reduce our environmental impact. We reduce, reuse and recycle absolutely everything we can. We strongly believe in a triple bottom line of people, planet and profits, or we might say people, planet - then profits.

Our magazine is not glossy, it never will be. It is printed on recycled newsprint and is meant to be easily recycled when our readers are through with it. Our cover always features a beautiful work of art, part of our dedication to creative expression as a vital aspect of an abundant life. Inside you will find meaningful articles touching on mind, body and spirit.

We hope you enjoy our magazine - we would love to hear from you. Please submit your articles, calendar events, news briefs or ideas to editor@naturalawakeningsboulder.com.

Meet our Founder

Sharon Bruckman

Healthy living entrepreneur Sharon Bruckman established Natural Awakenings magazine in 1994 in Naples, Florida in response to her local holistic health community's need for an effective way to share information and connect with people searching for alternative therapies. Two years later, an avid reader convinced her to launch a second edition in Sarasota, Florida. Its destiny was to become the prototype for an unprecedented franchise network (formed in 1999) of like-minded people who value what this magazine brings to their community. Today, franchise owners publish more than 50 local additions, with new magazines added each year. In each market 10,000s of free copies are circulated at hundreds of public distribution points.

"The wellness revolution I saw emerging years ago is now in full swing," says Bruckman. "It's propelled by the kind of people who read our magazines and website. Our job is to keep our finger on the pulse of cutting-edge advances and keep readers apprised of the best healthy-life choices available. We love what we do. We love to spread light. Our delight is in awakening one community at a time...naturally." says Bruckman.

Natural Awakenings offers a synergy that other national publications just can't match, with both a national and local focus seamlessly integrated into each issue. We present special features, interviews with national figures, and guest columns right along with local news briefs, stories, resource directories and a community calendar. Each month brings fresh perspective around a timely theme sure to pique your interest.
